This winter, give your child a chance to explore music, creativity, and technology in our hands-on AI Winter Songwriting Camp.
Designed for a small group of 8 kids ages 10 to 15, this unique in-person program guides students through 6 to 8 weeks of interactive songwriting sessions, where they'll use AI tools, write original songs, and collaborate in a fun, supportive studio environment.
❄️ What’s Included:
The Basics of Songwriting: Kids will learn how to brainstorm catchy titles, write meaningful verses and choruses, and structure full songs that tell a story.
Melody-Making Made Fun: Through guided exercises, humming games, and live instrument demos, students will create simple, original melodies — no experience needed!
Intro to AI for Creatives: We’ll explore how to use tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm lyric ideas and Suno to turn those lyrics into music. Plus, we’ll talk about AI ethics in a kid-friendly, inspiring way that keeps human creativity front and center.
Recording Studio Experience: Each student will have the chance to lay down a track — whether it’s vocals, percussion, or a background sound — for a collaborative group song we create together. We’ll record it in a real studio setting for a memorable final project.
Make Your Own Song: In addition to the group project, each student will write and generate their own personal song using the songwriting skills and AI tools they’ve learned.

A free Suno account (https://suno.com)
Headphones (optional but encouraged)
We’ll walk them through how to use both tools safely and creatively.

Week 1: Introduction to Songwriting & AI
Theme: What is a song? What is AI?
❄️ What makes a song a song?
❄️ Introduction to ChatGPT (using it as an idea assistant)
Exercise: Group brainstorming of song ideas (using ChatGPT)
Week 2: The Anatomy of a Song
Theme: Understanding Verses, Choruses, and Titles
❄️ Discuss examples and listen to a kid‑friendly song.
❄️ Group activity: brainstorm titles for songs.
Exercise:
Individual activity: Choose a title and write 3–5 lines for a chorus.
Week 3: Writing Strong Verses
Theme: Storytelling Through Lyrics
❄️ What is the role of a verse? Imagery and emotion.
Exercise:
Group activity: Pick a theme and write a four‑line verse.
Individual activity: Write a short verse for their song.
Week 4: Melody Making
Theme: Creating a Tune
❄️ Introduction to scales, intervals, and making melodies.
❄️ Demo with instruments.
Exercise:
Group activity: Hum and build a melody for the chorus.
Individual activity: Try creating a melody for their verse.
Week 5: Creating Your Song with AI
Theme: ChatGPT & Suno Workshop
❄️ Introduction to Suno and its capabilities.
❄️ Using ChatGPT + Suno to transform lyrics into music.
Exercise:
Group activity: Feed a chorus into ChatGPT and use Suno to generate a melody.
Individual activity: Begin drafting their own AI‑enhanced song.
Week 6: Finalizing the Song & Introduction to Studio
Theme: Getting Your Song “Recorded”
❄️ Exporting from Suno and using a simple DAW (or recording platform).
❄️ Adding basic vocals and instruments.
Exercise:
Individual activity: Try recording a vocal line or adding a basic instrument track.
Group review and feedback.
Week 7: Polishing and Refining
Theme: Editing and Final Touches
❄️ Final lyric review.
❄️ Polishing the melody and production.
Exercise:
Individual activity: Refine song elements (lyrics, vocals, or structure).
Group activity: Share with peers for constructive feedback.
Week 8: Final Performances & Reflection
Theme: Sharing Our Songs & What We Learned
❄️ Final performance or recording playback.
❄️ Reflection on AI, ethics, and their creative process.
Exercise:
Individual activity: Reflective journal entry about what worked, what they learned, and what excites them for future music making.
Group activity: Perform songs or play recordings.

👥 Adult Participation: We recommend 1 adult for every 2–3 children to help guide and observe.
🌨️ Weather Policy: Up to 2 make-up sessions available if needed.
