Hi, I’m Kim Yarson — a mama, music-maker, literacy lover, and lifelong believer in the magic of childhood.

I live to serve through love and entertainment, and children have always been my favorite audience. Their innocence deserves to be preserved, their curiosity protected, and their joy celebrated — not rushed, measured, or molded to fit someone else’s pace.

For over 30 years, I’ve written songs across every genre — music has always been my language, my passion, and my way of connecting with the world. For 15 of those years, I had the honor of performing for children, learning firsthand what makes them light up, engage, and feel seen.

But it wasn’t until the stillness of the pandemic, during COVID, that I had my aha moment:

I was born to entertain children. I wanted to change their lives through music. I realized I had something special to offer — not just a gift, but a calling. So I left my day job and went all in on my dream: to build an extraordinary phonics program powered by rhythm, joy, and song.

That dream became Learn to Read with Music and the phonics courses became ABCs Singing the Sounds — a methodical, multi-sensory, songwriter-created literacy experience, supported by educational experts and continuously growing.

I truly believe that music activates memory, emotion, and engagement in a way nothing else can. It motivates. It heals. It makes learning feel like play.

That’s what I want for your child and for you. But this work is about more than reading. It’s about relationship.

I raised my own children with deep love, long walks to the park, countless trips to the library, forts in the woods, and the freedom to play without pressure. I chose to be fully present for my boys, while still keeping my dreams alive, not perfectly, but faithfully, so they would grow up knowing that passion is worth working for, even in the messiness of parenting.

Today, I bring all of that lived experience, the music, the mothering, the mess, and the miracles to families who are doing their best to raise readers, dreamers, and joyful learners.

My values are simple but deep: family, faith, creativity, and connection.

I’m here as your resident mom, mentor, and musical guide — offering grace where you need it, ideas when you want them, and love always.
